In the face of the recent North Korea long range missle tests as well as the underground test detonation of a nuclear bomb, the UN enacted sanctions against North Korea yesterday in a 9-0 vote that included the support of China and Russia (historically allies of the North Korean regime). The sanctions include the UN authority for countries to enact searches of North Korean vessels at sea as well as the authority to freeze certain key financial accounts used by the regime. Today, major news outlets are reporting that the North Korean government intends to weaponize its remaining stockpile of plutonium and to pursue uranium enrichment despite the latest U.N. sanctions resolution.
Aren’t politics supposed to be a popularity contest where the attractive, well spoken young man wins the election promising things he cannot deliver while using cliche after sloppy cliche? If that’s the case, how in the hell did this jabba-the-hut looking slob rise to power? Either the North Koreans have no good looking dudes or their perception of attractiveness is as far off the charts as their latest failed missel test target
